Windows. Crib opens in a window of its own: Microsoft Edge, which comes with Windows, started as an app window, signed out and with sync off. If Edge is not there, Crib opens in your default browser instead.

No. There is no account and no sign-up.

Crib is not intended for anyone under 18 and is not directed at children.

No. Your holdings, costs and notes never leave your machine. Price and blockchain services are told what to look up, never how much of it you own. The one exception is yours to make: if you turn on Telegram alerts, Crib sends the portfolio figures you choose to Telegram.

Crib is a price and blockchain reader, so it makes requests to public services, and the privacy policy lists every one of them. Price lookups carry which coins you are interested in, but not your wallet address, your quantities or what you paid. A wallet address is sent only to the services for its chain, after you agree, and Crib names the hosts at the time.

No. Crib does not poll. It reads your wallets when you press the button, and — only if you switch this on — when you open the app. That setting is off by default.

No. There is no Crib server, no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising and no telemetry. Iron Kennel receives nothing from your copy of Crib: not your holdings, not your addresses, not a crash report, not a count of how often you open it. The Microsoft Store version never checks for updates itself: the Store keeps it up to date.

No. Crib never asks for a private key or a seed phrase and has nowhere to store one. It reads public blockchain data, and it has no way to move funds or place an order.

No, and the policy says so plainly: the database is not encrypted. It is protected by your operating system account and nothing more. If your machine is shared or unencrypted, the policy suggests full-disk encryption.

Uninstall Crib and delete the crib folder in your user directory. There is nothing held anywhere else, because there is nowhere else. Iron Kennel cannot delete it for you, and cannot recover it for you.

Yes. Any request reveals your IP address to the service receiving it, and a wallet address and an IP address seen together are a real correlation. If that concerns you, use Crib behind a VPN or Tor, or don’t add watched wallets and enter holdings by hand instead.

Paste a wallet address and your coins land on the desk as cards: what you hold, what it’s worth, what you paid, and the multiple since you bought. Coinbase and Kraken exports can be imported too.

24 blockchains from a pasted address: Ethereum and the chains built on it (Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche, BNB Chain, Unichain, Scroll, zkSync, Blast, Linea, Berachain, Robinhood Chain, PulseChain), Solana, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, XRP, Cardano, Tron, TON and Sui.

On BNB Chain, Linea, Berachain and Robinhood Chain, Crib sees the chain’s own coin but not the other tokens (no free service lists them), and says so; add those by hand.

Crib reads a wallet’s history to work out what each coin cost, and says plainly which costs it read and which it had to estimate. A cost you estimated is labelled as an estimate.

Junk that strangers airdrop to your wallet is set aside, not added to your desk. Guard Dog also flags junk sent to your wallets on purpose, including look-alike addresses planted to trick you into copying the wrong one.

A price two sources disagree about is kept out of your totals. A coin with no price says so instead of showing zero. Every number on a card can show you where it came from.

No. They’re from Crib’s sample desk: made-up coins, never a real one.

Realised gains and losses for each tax year, first in, first out unless you choose another method (the app explains when the IRS accepts one). A rewards and airdrop log that counts free coins as income. Form 8949 lines, and a checker that compares a broker’s Form 1099-DA with your own records.

No. Crib’s tax pages are reports and records to take to your tax preparer or your own filing. They are not tax advice, and nothing on this site is financial or tax advice.

Guard Dog shows which apps your wallets have allowed to move your tokens, and flags junk sent to your wallets on purpose — including look-alike addresses planted to trick you into copying the wrong one. Crib never contacts revoke.cash itself: a Revoke button is a link that opens it in your browser only when you press it.

It lists the real addresses of exchanges and apps, and tests a link before you click it. The list ships inside the app and the page makes no requests at all: the link checker answers from that list alone and does not fetch the address you paste.

How much of your desk rests on figures that need nothing from you, and a list of what would improve the rest. It contacts nothing.

A printed sheet that tells your family what you hold and where to find it — without a single secret on it. The few things only you know are printed as ruled lines to fill in by hand. The sheet does list what you hold and your public addresses, so the policy says to treat the paper the way you would treat a will.
